Q: What’s the difference between the pneumatic seals and hydraulic seals?
A: Working environment.
Pneumatic seals, normal temperature, air, pressure is about 4~8kg/cm^2.
Hydraulic seals, high temperature, hydraulic oil, pressure is about 50~400kg/cm^2.
Hydraulic seals need higher temperature then pneumatic seals, wear resistance and not easy to decompose by the hydraulic oil and water, so the material and sizes are also different.
Q: What are the materials for the hydraulic seals?
A: There are main two types of materials, FKM and PU material.Choose the seals depends on the working conditions.
Q: How to distinguish the mechanical seals and hydraulic seals?
A: There is no pressure requirement for the mechanical seals, they are metal seals, seal the liquids by several seals rotation movement.There is pressure requirement for the hydraulic seals, and surface finishes. The hydraulic seals mostly choose rubber material.
Q:How to choose the seals for the low pressure cylinder?
A: If the pressure is about 3 MPa, the o ring is enough for the usage, for high speed usage, choose o rings in FKM material.
