The features of the Spiral Seals

Spiral seals are a non-contact fluid dynamic seals, it uses the spiral pump principle, when the leakage appears, the liquid will be pushed back based on the spiral effect, in order to achieve the purpose of sealing, also known as the thread sealing.

The features of the spiral seals are complex structure, with good wear resistance performance, it is a better choice than floating seals in the low pressure condition, its service life is longer than the contact seals,but it should fix with a secondary seals to reach zero leakage effect.

Currently the spiral seals is not widely use, it can only use under the speed 3-5 m/s, pressure 2.5-3.5 Mpa, mainly use in the nuclear and aerospace equipment, such as compressors.
