How to Distinguish True from False of Seals Made from UHMWPE

Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene(UHMWPE), a linear structure, is a thermoplastic engineering plastic that processes excellent cohesive performance.

1.Weighing method. The specific weight of pure UHMWPE product is between 0.93 to 0.95, it can float on water with smaller density. Impure UHMWPE product will sink to the bottom.

2.Temperature measure. Pure UHMWPE product won’t melt and deformed but softening under 200 ℃. Impure UHMWPE product will deform under 200℃.

3.Visual means. Real UHMWPE product has a smooth surface with well-uniform density of section.Impure UHMWPE product has dark surface with in-homogeneous density.

4.End face testing. The turn-up end face of Pure UHMWPE is  round,uniform and smooth. Impure UHMWPE product has slip and will fall chip after heating.
