Wear and friction are the main causes of the damage of the O ring seals products in the dynamic sealing device of hydraulic machinery.
When the liquid pressure is small, the friction force of the O ring depends on its own pre-compression volume. When the working medium is under pressure, friction increases with the increase of working environment pressure.
The increase in friction causes a large amount of friction heat between the axis of the rotation or reciprocating motion and O ring seals. Since most O ring seals are made of rubber material, the thermal conductivity is poor. Therefore, the heat generated by friction can cause the aging of rubber material, resulting in the sealing failure of o-ring seal products and damaging its sealing performance.
