Characteristics of gasket seals, Part 1

Any type of gasket seals product, in the harsh environment, it is necessary to ensure a long-term effective sealing. It must have the following important features.

1. Air tightness of gasket seals.

For the sealing medium in the sealing system, the gasket work in the specified temperature and pressure of the environment, it will not leak in a certain time.

2. Compressibility of gasket seals.

The contact surface of the gasket and the flange is fastened after the connection bolts, it need a good match to ensure the sealing effect.

3. Creep resistance of gasket seals.

Gasket in the influence of pressure load and the use of temperature, creep resistance should be better. Otherwise it will cause the bolt torque loss, the surface stress of the gasket will be reduced, resulting in leakage of the sealing system.

4. Chemical corrosion resistance of the gasket seals.

The selected gasket will not corrode by chemical medium,and can’t contaminate the sealing medium.
