What is D type sealing ring?

D type sealing ring is a section that showing the shape of D, but essentially an O-ring with a square base.DSH Seals tells you that it can provide a larger base contacting area, thus eliminating the possibility of distortion and spiral failure. 

The friction force is equivalent to O ring, but deformation of sections is larger under high pressure, it must use gasket in order to adapt high pressure.

D type sealing ring provide good sealing for reciprocating motion (dynamic seals, such as hydraulic and pneumatic piston rod seals) or other applications(working environment) that are not satisfactory for O ring.
