What is mechanical seals?

Mechanical seals are one of the special seals for machinery. Mechanical seals are a device that solve the sealing between rotary shaft and mechanical body.

It consists of at least one pair of end faces perpendicular to the axis of rotation, which is held in fluid contact with the action of the compensation force (or magnetic force) of the compensating mechanism and the auxiliary seal, and is configured to prevent the leakage of the liquid. 

It is commonly used in rotary fluid machinery such as pumps, compressors, reaction stirred tanks, etc. It can also be used for sealing of gear boxes, valves, rotary joints, and the ship's tail shaft, etc. Therefore, the mechanical seal is a universal shaft seal.
