O ring material characteristics

O ring and Seal performance and life is determined by the sealing material. The most medium 

characteristics are oil, high temperature, low temperature.

Rubber Sealing material characteristics:

1. Flexible and resilient.

2. Adequate mechanical strength, including the expansion strength,elongation and tear strength, etc.

3. Stable performance, in the medium is not east to swell,  heat shrinkage effect (joule effect) is small.

4. Easy to process and shape, and can maintain the size of precision.

5. Non corrosive contact surface, non polluting media, etc.

The above mentioned is the most commonly used sealing material is rubber, so O ring is mostly made 

of rubber materials. Rubber varieties are many, and there are constantly new rubber varieties appear, 

design and selection, you should understand the characteristics of various kinds of rubber, then make a 

reasonable choice.
