Analysis of Overheating of O-shaped Seal- Mechanical Seals

Extensive heat produced on the sealing face cause overheating of filled O-shaped seal.

3.Symptoms of overheating and solutions:

Symptoms: the O-shaped seal will easily stiffen and cracking. PFTE O-shaped seal will easily become blue and black,especially be worst approaching to the sealing face.

Solution: firstly check the circulation condition of the sealing box(check the cooler if there is). Find out whether there blocks up. Check whether the suction is lower or not,whether there appears dry-running or slag-forming. We can check the sealing products by the original standard.
