Gaskets characteristics and performance

When use the valves, it is general practice to replace the original gaskets depends on the specific working condition, materials for gaskets are rubber, plastic, PTFE, metal and so on.

Rubber gaskets, easily transformed, the pressure or high temperature resistance is not so good, apply in low pressure and temperature situation. Nature rubber has certain acid and alkali resistance, but the temperature is lower than 60 ℃. Nitrile rubber has oil resistance performance,  temperature can reach 80 ℃.  Fluorine rubber has good corrosion resistance, and use in 150 ℃.

Plastic gaskets, the outstanding characteristic of it is good corrosion resistance, but most of plastic is not good at temperature resistance.

PTFE gaskets, widely temperature range, long last usage from 180 ℃ to 200 ℃.

Metal gaskets, use in high temperature application.
