The characteristics of HNBR oil seals

Update:2018-05-02

Oil seals are different in terms of environment and occasion, the medium of rubber seal materials used in oil seals are different, which also determines that the environment and occasions for the development and production of oil seals used and applied are different. In the industry, the most common materials for developing and producing oil seals are rubber seals.

There are nitrile rubber sealing materials, acrylate and fluororubber sealing materials. Sealing materials that can be used in addition to rubber types include silicone rubber seal materials, polyurethane, hydrogenated nitrile rubber materials, and PTFE rubber seal materials (oil seal lip parts).

Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, abbreviations: HNBR, or H-NBR. It is a new variety of Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR). It is a highly saturated elastomer obtained by special hydroprocessing of NBR.

The oil seal produced with hydrogenated nitrile rubber is a new type of elastomer with excellent properties. It is made by catalyzing and high pressure hydrogen, such as hydrogen.

NBR rubber's molecular chain changes from an unsaturated structure to a highly saturated structure due to hydrogenation. Similar to ordinary NBR, it can be filled with more fillers. The sealing rubber prepared by blending it with a hydrocarbon rubber has good cold resistance, resistance to warping, and compression set resistance.

Oil seals developed with HNBR have been widely used in automotive oil seals and oil field seals. Hydrogenated nitrile rubber has also been used to develop oil seals for oil fields with high hydrogen sulfide content.
