Seal design principles of piston rod V seal

The size and adjustment of the V-ring compression force must be considered when designing, because it is related to the sealing performance. The adjustment pad is generally used (Figure 1). Given the thickness and pieces of the gasket, you can precisely control the amount of adjustment. Can also be adjusted with nuts or springs (Figure 2)

1. V ring can be used for both piston and piston rod seals. Since it has been standardized, the primary task in designing is to determine the structure of the seal and to select its material, number of turns, and to determine its suitability for using support ring, ring material and size.
