Guide ring for oil-free lubricating compressor DST

Update:2018-08-24

The guide ring, also called the support ring, is a part of the piston and piston rod for the hydraulic cylinder or cylinder that supports the movement of the piston and the piston rod. It prevents the piston or the piston rod from directly contacting the cylinder during the movement. And friction, to protect the cylinder and piston or piston rod from damage. The common material for the guide ring is POM.

In oil-free lubrication compressors, guide rings should be provided for both horizontal and angled versions. The non-lubricated guide ring is embedded in the guide ring groove on the piston. It is an important part of the compressor piston assembly and is the key to the oil-free lubrication of the compressor. Its performance and life directly affect the normal operation and production efficiency of the compressor.

First, the guide ring has a guiding and positioning function. It ensures the linearity of the piston reciprocating in the cylinder and the concentricity of the piston and the cylinder, so that the piston and the cylinder maintain a working gap, preventing the mirror surface from being worn or scratched by direct contact between the piston body and the cylinder mirror surface.

Second, the guide ring is used to withstand side pressure and support the weight of the piston assembly. For the angle compressor, since there is no crosshead, the integrated piston force is transmitted to the piston pin through the connecting rod, and a component force acting on the cylinder wall through the piston perpendicularly is generated at the piston pin, which is called side pressure.

For oil-free lubricating compressors, the piston ring is made of non-metallic self-lubricating material, the strength is low, and in order to ensure the sealing performance, the axial thickness is small, so the non-lubricated piston rod only plays the sealing role, and the side pressure is mainly guided. The ring bears. All or part of the weight of the piston assembly in the horizontal compressor or the angle compressor is also tolerated by the guide ring, so the guide ring is also called the support ring.

The presence of the guide ring improves the working condition of the piston rod and improves the sealing performance and service life of the piston rod.
