Common problem of excavator seals

Engineering machinery excavator also called excavating machinery,it is a bucket machine that excavates materials above or below the carrier surface and loads the earth moving machinery into the transport vehicle or unloaded to the stockyard. The materials excavated by the excavator are mainly soil, coal, sediment and pre-pulled soil and rock.

How to solve the pressure relief problem of excavator?


First of all, we have to solve the situation of the excavator's pressure relief, and solve the problems according to the actual situation.


1. Manufacturing and assembly factors: All hydraulic components and sealing components of excavators have strict dimensional tolerances, surface treatment, surface finish and shape tolerances. 


If the manufacturing process is out of tolerance, such as: the piston radius of the cylinder, the depth or width of the sealing groove, the hole size of the sealing member is too poor, or the machining is caused by the problem, the part itself has a congenital leakage point. It will leakage after assembly or using process.


2. Assembly factors: hydraulic components should be eliminated in the assembly of barbaric operation, if excessive force will cause deformation of the parts, especially with copper rods, etc., the cylinders, sealing flanges, etc.; parts should be carefully inspected before assembly, 


assembly should be put a little hydraulic oil on the part and gently press it in. When cleaning, apply diesel oil, especially rubber parts such as seals, dust seals, O-rings,  etc. If you use gasoline, it will easily age and lose its original elasticity, thus losing the sealing function. 


3. Oil pollution and damage to the excavator parts, can be subdivided into four causes of gas pollution, particulate pollution, water pollution and accessories damage, it may also cause pressure relief.


4. Design factors: The reliability of the excavator hydraulic system depends to a large extent on the design of the hydraulic system seal and the selection of the seal. Due to the unreasonable selection of the seal structure in the design, the selection of the seal is not in accordance with the specifications. 


The compatibility type of the hydraulic oil and the sealing material, the load condition, the ultimate pressure, the working speed, and the change of the ambient temperature are not considered.


These all directly or indirectly cause hydraulic system leakage to varying degrees. 


In addition, due to the dust and impurities in the working environment of the excavator, it is necessary to select a suitable dustproof seal in the design to prevent dust and other contaminants from entering the system to damage the seal and contaminate the oil, thereby causing leakage.
