What is a slide ring?

Update:2018-12-15

What is a slide ring? A slide ring is an electrical component that is responsible for communicating and transmitting energy and signals to a rotating body. According to the transmission medium, the slide ring is divided into an electric slide ring, a fluid slide ring, and a smooth ring, and can also be collectively referred to as "rotary communication" or "swirl".

It consists mainly of two parts: rotation and static. Mainly used in aerospace equipment, radar communication equipment, medical equipment, automatic processing equipment, smelting equipment, mining equipment, cable equipment, amusement equipment, display equipment, smart cameras, chemical reactors, crystal furnaces, wire stranding machines, windmills, machinery Arms, robots, shield machines, revolving doors, measuring instruments, RC airplanes, special vehicles, special ships, etc.

What is the slide ring seal? Slide seals consists of a standard O-ring and an anti-friction seal on the friction side. This anti-friction seal is generally a solid Teflon-made friction seal. It can also be customized to fit your seal shape (shown in Figure 1 for the slide O-ring structure).

The groove depth is slightly larger than the standard size because both the O-ring and the slider seal will be retained by the grooves. This means that it is necessary to extend the slider seal in place by means of a special sealing tool or by means of thermal expansion, and the size of the cooling state is restored to normal.

Slide ring seals are suitable as a compact replacement for gears in hydraulic applications up to 350 bar (50001 b/in2). Due to their low friction, they are also of particular use on piston rods and cylinder seals in pneumatic systems.
